The Haugesund bed has individually wrapped pocket springs that move independently and are designed to follow your body’s movements. Additionally, the response coils are individually wrapped, which helps absorb movements so you have great motion isolation and don’t disturb someone who is sharing your bed, whether a partner or a pup.

I think it’s especially great for couples, thanks to its edge support, bounce, and mobility. These same factors also make it a nice option for combo sleepers. Though a bit more expensive than the Haugesund, this mattress could be all you need and more.

The Hesstun comes with all the features of the Haugsvär — and then some. It has double layers of individually wrapped pocket springs topped with a generous foam layer. The mini pocket springs inside the mattress are designed to contour to the natural curves of the body, creating enhanced comfort and a firm yet supportive sleep surface.

This Hasvåg is the most basic spring mattress offering from IKEA, available in twin, full, and queen-size. Still, it’s a relatively thick mattress (for IKEA, at least), coming in at 8 ¼”. The stretch fabric on top of the mattress moves with you, which is supposed to help maximize comfort and support. This bed is designed to only be used on one side.

Minnesund Mattress Review
The Minnesund is one of the least-expensive IKEA foam mattresses, starting at $89 for a twin. The cover is removable and machine-washable, and the zipper is child-safe. That being said, it doesn’t have a tab; to open and close the zipper, insert a paper clip through the loop. Other things to know: the mattress comes roll-packed and will take up to 72 hours to fully decompress. IKEA also recommends a slatted bed base or a mattress base.

Looking for an alternative option? I would recommend the Dreamfoam Essential RV mattress. The Dreamfoam is a great alternative to the Minnesund because it’s a memory foam mattress, comes in a variety of heights and sizes, and is very affordable. It also has a spill- and stain-resistant cover, which is great for kids.

The Matrand is characterizeed by its thick layer of memory foam, engineered to mold to the contours of the body for optimal pressure relief. Best of all, you can remove the mattress top and throw it in the washer for easy cleaning. After reading reviews, the general consensus is people thought this was a good price for a memory foam bed, starting at $259 for a Twin.

The Myrbacka also has a layer of memory foam, but it is two inches thicker than the Matrand. The thick layer of memory foam is filled with wool filling for temperature regulation and a soft feel. It also has comfort zones that target the shoulder and hips.

Åmsosen Mattress Review
The Åmsosen mattress is a medium-firm gel memory foam mattress. The gel helps the mattress to mold to your body, similar to traditional memory foam, but also draws heat from the body to create a cooler sleeping experience. The Åmsosen is 9 ⅞” thick, so it’s a little taller than some of the other IKEA foam mattresses.

My alternative recommendation for the Åmsosen would be the Sweet Night Sunkiss memory foam mattress. Should You Buy an IKEA Mattress?
The best perk about IKEA products, especially mattresses, is their low price point. With a 25-year limited warranty, IKEA beds are priced below market value and also come with good sleep trial periods and return policies should you decide it’s not a fit. At the same time, IKEA sells mattresses that aren’t as high-quality as higher-end mattresses with bigger price tags. So we recommend these products to anyone who needs a bed during a transitional period or for a temporary reason — a sublet in a new city, college dorm, etc. IKEA may offer the best option for these folks, especially since it wouldn’t be a huge investment.
